It is a highly venomous snake found in hilly forests and valleys. The species is rarely encountered in the wild and around settlement area. It is black and shiny and prefers to hide under rocks and logs. It is active at night and very secretive. It feeds mainly on other snakes and frogs. Though dangerous, it avoids people and only bites when provoked. Immediate medical help is needed if bitten.
